Greg Ambroisine is a German based trumpeter, director, educator and composer who has performed, directed and featured with numerous groups in over 5 continents. Ambroisine was born in Sydney Australia and after beginning his musical studies relocated to Melbourne in order to further his musical education with jazz educator Gil Askey (Benny Goodman, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Five) at the Victorian College of the Arts. After graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Arts, Ambroisine travelled extensively through Canada and Germany as a professional jazz musician. During this time he performed with trumpeter Marcus Belgrave (Ray Charles, Charles Mingus, Motown Records, Tribe Records, Blue Note Records) and legendary drummer Richard "Pistol" Allen (Standing in the Shadows of Motown, Marvin Gaye) After being promoted as a music director on cruise ships, Greg relocated to Australia in which he became the in house composer for Melbourne based video/film producers Bayside Media. During this time Greg Ambroisine met with ARIA nominated jazz pianist Andy Vance (Mickey Tucker) and performed on Andy's album Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring. Together with Andy and Sydney based iconic drummer and well loved brother of James Morrison, John Morrison a group named transit featuring both Melbourne and Sydney Jazz musicians including Con Campbell and Peter Kohlhoff (bass) was formed. Their self titled debut album was recorded on 5th Feb 2010 at James Morrison Studios and was featured on radio stations through out Australia. Greg has now relocated to Germany and is performing with a wide range of musical acts which will are able to support your artistic needs.
